Sunday evening, just around 7 p.m., kids are all quiet, tucked in their beds, and looking forward to a quiet evening and the power flickers, comes back on, and then goes out.  No longer is the house quiet and an hour later the kids are sleeping and mom and dad prepare for a night without power.  Yes here in Rainy River we were without power for over five hours last night and a short time this morning, and this power outage reminds us of a few things:

There is much in our world that is distracting and without power we realize just how quickly we are asking, “what can we do?”.  Secondly, our minds reflect on the Christian’s power in their lives.  Often we state that it is in God’s power alone, and as we embark on this new year are we allowing God’s power to work through our lives?  What is hindering God’s power at work in our lives and through our lives.

A connection with God enables believers to experience the power of God working through their lives accomplishing His purpose and will.  As we continue journeying through life together may we strive to know Jesus more and the power of Salavation at work in our lives and in our community!
