Between Christmas and New Year
Home > Monday Morning Musings > Between Christmas and New YearIt is always an interesting week in many regards between the celebration of Christmas and the ringing in of the New Year. Today my family and I celebrate the last of three large Christmas Dinners with our family and as we look forward to the rest of the week, we know that 2010 is right around the corner.
To those who repent of their sins and believe in the gift of salvation, remembering Christ’s birth, life, eventual death, resurrection and ascension is always a time to reflect on our relationship to God. Many over the course of this week begin the process of reflection on what their “New Year’s Resolutions” will be, and for us today, may we ask ourselves, “What are some areas of my relationship with Jesus do I desire to grow closer with this coming year?”
How are things in regards to the time I spend with Jesus?
How are things going with living the life Jesus wants me to live?
How are things going in my relationship to other people?
How are things going in my attitudes toward people and other believers?
This coming Sunday (January 3, 2010) we again join together around the Lord’s Table, and as we prepare for this coming week’s service may we join together in examining our lives in light of what Scripture reveals and responding accordingly.
May the Lord bless your week and keep you all safe in His arms!
Blessings,
Pastor Kors Pater
